Best pho outside of the cities! I was a little disappointed that a large, 2 meat pho would only come with a few slices of the beef. Needs a few more IMO. The flavor was perfect. Happy to find this place after a year of trying to get decent pho in the northern burbs. Will be back often! In addition, egg foo yung and shrimp wontons were pretty damn good also.

The reason we chose this place was do to the proximity to my moms house and we had just got off the plane from Denver and wanted to take my mom out for some pho and there were some decent reviews for this place. When pulling up to the place it was a little dirty (which I am not opposed to as places like this normally have good food). So I have had Pho many places around the states and this is one on the worst I have come across. Pho was very bland and nothing really to it. I had the combo pho and it was lacking in noodles and in meat content. My wife had the seafood pho and it didn't taste any different which it should. Just a heads up! I normally do not like like to complain about pho because I know everywhere is different but this was pretty bad.

Friendly staff, great home-cooked like meals, and excellent prices. They'll remember you if you visit often enough. Suggestion #1: The Pho. Clean broth, great selection of Pho types and they even have fish sauce on the tables. I only eat Pho at places that have fish sauce on the table! Suggestion #2: Wonton Egg Noodle. Add a dollop of soy sauce to the broth (no lime) and some spice, bam. You have yourself a nom nom nom dish. I tend to get this dish to go as they don't have red vinegar or sesame seed oil. That's how I grew up eating this type of dish, but a little soy sauce and spice can still satisfy.

This place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall place no one knows about. They're always really busy when I come here though. They have $5.99 lunch buffet for a small station but it has everything you would've ordered through the menu anyway. That's probably why it's always packed during lunch. They offer a Vietnamese menu on top of their Chinese menu, which is great. I would recommend you try their pho and oyster sauce chicken wings. Now, I do have to admit, some of their menu items are better than others. There's one person serving everyone the whole time so be nice to her and be patient. She's really fast and really good at her job. She also has a lot of gray suggestions if you're torn between choices our just don't know what to get. Give this place a try!

I actually really like this place. It was my first time dining here, and despite it look like a hole in the wall - the food ain't too shabby. If I could recommend some food, definitely, try their Bun Bo Hue. It's bomb. It has the perfect amount of spiciness, and the flavor is really deep (which a lot of places lack). Or the oyster chicken wings which is a definite favorite. Always crispy but smothered in black bean oyster goodness. This place is pretty inexpensive and even though the physical appeal is lacking - the food is definitely worthwhile to stop by.

I love their food. Taste is great. My favorites are any fried rice and the beef egg fo yong. Staff is courteous and willing to help. Great lunch buffet too.

Not bad , but certainly not great. The egg rolls were a disappointment. The soup was decent, rice was average to slightly above average. I didn't have the pho but I've heard it's what makes the place. For Chinese food go across the street to the rose garden ,much better!!

The buffet is hit or miss depending on your tastes. I personally enjoy the food they serve in the buffet but it's not for everyone. Also it's the by FAR the best buffet for $6. What IS for everyone is their ORANGE CHICKEN! The BEST. GET IT! Overall I love this place and will come here as often as I can. Thanks to the staff and cooks!

Want pho and your car isn't working? That's the only reason I'd get pho here. Very bland and forgettable. The Chinese stuff was serviceable. If you're up for a drive, try Pho Ca Dao in St. Paul. You will not believe it's the same dish.

When it comes to pho, I'm very hesitant to try it outside of the twin cities. With so many staple restaurants around there that get it right time and time again it's hard to expand my horizons. Occasionally I'll try a place that has great yelp reviews only to be disappointed. Either they had something different than I, or they have no clue what pho is supposeded to taste like. Marrying into a Vietnamese family and making my own (under direct super vision of the mother in law) I would say I've got it down to a science. But real pho takes hours to make properly and sometimes I just want to eat. So I decided to roll the dice with my two co-workers (one of which is Vietnamese and just as picky as I) and give this a try based on a few reviews of pho. Woooooooooooooow this place nails it. My co-worker was laughing because she said she almost never finished her pho unless it's really good. I was about to burst because I somehow accidentally ordered the big bowl but was determined to finish it. The lunch buffet was small but looked very good for Chinese food...Definitely worth a try considering the $5.50 price point. I also had the banh mi (which I always pair with pho) but that was the worst I've ever had. Butter? Salt instead of soy sauce? No pate? What in the world? 5 stars for my review still? You better believe it, this was definitively the best pho I've had in the state.

I only tried their whole lemon chicken and it was delicious!!!! however it is a little bit pricy $23 for a whole chicken ...

Was ok, our fried rice had a burnt taste and the egg Foo young was like water from the sprouts. The chicken Lo mein and wontons were really good, next time I would like to try the Pho, they have a huge selection.

I saw "Pho" neon signs in the front windows and had to check it out, although I was a little skeptical because the place is called Mandarin. The Pho is excellent! The broth is delicious and the bowl comes with a generous amount of noodles and meat. In comparison with other restaurants in the region I believe this place has the best Pho. Meatballs, thinly sliced beef steak and beef roast, tripe, and the other goodies you would expect in a great Pho were all there and the price $7.99. I'll definitely go back, the dining area is small and the hostess knows her customers. Truly a great local restaurant.

I hadn't been in this neck of the woods since my teens. I ordered the Szechuan Chicken and after inquiring whether it was really spicy or not out server indicated that it can actually be made spicy as opposed to adapted to the local palate. guidance was provided that I actually wanted the warmth and they nailed it! the broccoli was done to perfection and the fried spring rolls were done to just that right level of sinfully delicious. if you must go to coon rapids, make sure to stop in.

The Pho is excellent. World class. No MSG!! I couldn't disagree with the guy from Brighton, CO more. I've had local Pho in L.A., NYC, and DC, as well as the Vietnamese market in Moscow. New Mandarin's Pho, for under $20, is as good as anywhere. I won't rave about their Chinese menu, but the Pho is unimpeachable. All I can guess is that those who don't like it are used to eating MSG, instead of pure ingredients.

Excellent price for the lunch buffet. The vietnamese salad and PHO are some of the best in town.

They changed their menu a while back and if you haven't tried them lately, give them another try! Fantastic food and very authentic Vietnamese dishes. Squid with Sour Vegetables was awesome. Great Bun and stir fry dishes as well. They even modified a dish for my special dietary needs. Very nice people and a great little restaurant. Best Asian food in Coon Rapids, hands down.

Cute little place and the staff is friendly, but they have a very weak and lacking buffet lunch. But, the price was surprisingly low, so that was a nice perk. I think I ate maybe half of the dishes offered (so around 2) and some soup. I don't think we'll go back for the buffet again, but we'd still consider trying them out for a take-out order.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
